One of the annoying things about programming film lights in Eos is how color attributes can be put across your encoders.  Since we deal with CCT and Tint 98% of the time, wouldn’t it be great to be able to have those attributes in the first page of your encoders?  Of course it would.  So let’s do it.

Custom Encoder Maps is the answer if you don’t already know.  It’s easy to do in a minute.  Open the Encoder Maps tab 40. 

This view follows the rules of every Blind tab.  Make the empty container first, then you can put stuff into it.  Type:

1 [Enter] 

You now have an empty Map.  Take a moment to label it.  I’m naming mine Film Color.  Now  select the Color tab on the left of the screen. 

Next, touch the first + next to (1).  A popup opens.  Type Color Temperature and it appears below.  Choose it and press OK. 

Repeat the process for the next two empty tiles next to your new Color Temperature to add Tint and Color Crossfade.  It should look like this at the end.

Go to Live and open your Encoder Display.  

Notice the view hasn’t changed…yet.  You have to choose to view your Custom map.  Touch the Custom tile in the upper left.

Notice that those are the only color attributes now.  You can either go back and add in all your color attributes…or you can just turn Custom off when you want to mix colors.  I find it easier to deal with the many different color mixing arrays I work with to just toggle Custom on and off.

This for me has been one of those *slaps forehead* “Why didn’t I do this long ago?” moments. It makes it so much faster to do CCT palettes and to adjust Tint to custom values.  (I have macros that raise and lower Tint by 5 and 10 but sometimes my gaffers want more subtle values.).
